Description

This course focuses on the care of the client across the lifespan who may be at risk for skin breakdown, who has a break in skin integrity or who has an existing wound.  Specifically, learners will gain knowledge of the etiology, differential diagnoses, clinical findings and management options of the wounds or skin complications affecting these groups.  Focus will also be on the adept skill of obtaining a physical assessment and health history, incorporating data from diagnostic tests, and documentation of assessments and evaluations to attain optimal client outcomes.

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY: Wound Care Nurse Specialist Course WND581
PURPOSE OF ACTIVITY: The purpose of this Activity is to:

1.  Provide educational experiences to prepare the bachelor’s prepared nurse (and beyond) to practice as a Skin and Wound Care Nurse Specialist at an entry level in all care settings.

2.  Provide access to a curriculum delivered by experienced online educators who are also Board Certified as Skin and Wound Care Nurse Specialists.

3.  Increase the number of Skin and Wound Care Nurse Specialists providing specialty care across the health care settings.

4.  Provide patients with evidence-based skin and wound care.
