CONT571 – IAD and Pressure Injuries – Distinct Conditions, Common Threats
|
COURSE DESCRIPTION: |
This course examines moisture-associated skin damage (MASD), particularly incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD), and pressure injuries as distinct yet interrelated conditions. Learners will compare the etiology and pathophysiology of IAD and pressure injuries, emphasizing shared risk factors, diagnostic challenges, and overlapping prevention strategies. Evidence-based approaches to assessment, prevention, and treatment are explored to support accurate differentiation and reduction of patient harm. |
