Complications & Implications

PURPOSE OF ACTIVITY:

 

The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to: identify,
manage and prevent peristomal skin complications in addition to realizing the
effect of peristomal complications on an individual’s health utility and the
economic impact on the healthcare system.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

 

This presentation focuses on the
significance of peristomal skin health for the adjustment and the quality of
life for the person with an ostomy. 
The maintenance of healthy peristomal skin and management of compromised
peristomal skin are discussed.
