PURPOSE OF ACTIVITY:

 

The purpose
of this program is to enable the direct patient care LPN to RN to correct,
maintain and/or prevent ostomy pouching problems by applying the principles
of right size, right fit, right barrier and right pouch.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

 

This
course is developed to provide education for the bedside nurse to provide
care for the patient with an ostomy. 
The type of ostomy and care involved are discussed in addition to the
correct selection and application of the pouching system.
