COURSE DESCRIPTION:   This course focuses on building and sustaining a culture of safety in skin and wound care for individual patients, caregivers, the health care system and others involved in wound care. Content includes the prevention and treatment of skin and wound care issues.  Evidence-based practice guides focused assessments and management approaches. Emphasis is placed on understanding physiology of the skin and how healing occurs followed by an extensive review of types of skin injuries, their prevention and treatment.
