Description

Intermittent Catheterization Practice & Challenges ON DEMAND Course

The purpose of this educational activity is to enable the nurse generalist to the advanced practitioner level to identify the general practices and trouble shoot challenges of intermittent catheterization.

Following this presentation, the participant will be able to:
Describe neurogenic bladder and causes.
Identify surgical options requiring Intermittent Catheterization.
Discuss increased risk for UT.I
Discuss insertion techniques.
List nursing strategies to teach self Intermittent Catheterization.
Describe options for adaptive equipment.
Explain challenges and successes with Intermittent Catheterization.

This content is delivered as an enduring material activity which is provider-directed, learner-paced and consists of handouts and test questions. To receive contact hours, the participant must complete all learning activities including the entire online program, an assessment quiz with a passing score of 80% and the course evaluation. Following completion of these materials, the participant is able to print the certificate of completion.
