What care setting can I complete my clinical practicum?
WEB WOC and the WOCNCB require learners to complete their clinicals in an acute care setting with the majority of time being spent with inpatients. Because the content on the certification exams is geared towards acute care experiences, we believe that doing your practicum in this setting is the best way to prepare for the exam. You will need to set up your practicum with an acute care qualified preceptor. Other care settings such as outpatient clinics, home or long-term care may qualify if evidence of adequate patient diversity, complexity, and volume. Learners completing a Continence practicum may work with preceptors whose primary care setting is the outpatient clinic.
