Am I responsible for locating a preceptor?

Learners are responsible for identifying potential preceptors for the clinical portion of their program. Preceptors are generally located in large medical facilities throughout the country.  We recommend that you start there – call a facility that is located near your home or work location first. Another option for locating a preceptor is to visit the WOCN’s website, as they have a Preceptor Directory available: https://www.wocn.org/become-a-woc-nurse/preceptor-directory/ (please note preceptors listed on this site may or may not be WEB WOC approved preceptors).

If you have not begun the program, we can provide you with a list of contracted facilities for a specific state. Once you have begun the program, we can provide you with a list of WEB WOC approved preceptors for any specific state.
