What is the NEP Program Class Format / How Does the Program Work?

Traditional Pathway Overview:

Our Traditional Program is very structured. There is a virtual LIVE class on Tuesday evening where Faculty gives the week’s lecture from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM (CDT). Please note that while there is a TNL most Tuesdays, it’s not every week. Learners have a chance to interact with the faculty and ask questions about the lecture and assignment for that week. Each week a new Module opens with that week’s content – weekly assignments include readings and discussion postings. There is also a weekly Quiz which the learner has a 24-hr window to complete. At the end of each course, there is a proctored Final Exam.

The Tuesday Night Live (TNL) classes are not mandatory, and you will not lose points if you are unable to make it that night.  All TNL classes are recorded and available in your course work the following morning.  Therefore, you have access to the recording for the whole week.  Most learners rearrange their schedules to attend TNL classes.  If you are not in class, you will miss the opportunity to ask questions. However, you may ask questions of your classmates in the Cyber Café.

In addition to the weekly LIVE class, there is also a Cyber Café, a virtual ‘meeting spot’ where all Learners can communicate with one another on a daily basis. The Program is completely online for the theory courses and upon successful completion of theory, the Learner may then begin their Practicum. Clinical practicum will be completed by the traditional clinical practicum or the experiential pathway.

Self-Paced Pathway Overview:

Learners enroll as they are accepted and begin course work once tuition is paid.  Learners will work through the course online, completing non-graded self- learning activities, 1 short written assignment per module (3 modules per scope) and take the quiz. Once the quiz and written assignment is completed, the next module will automatically open. The completed module will close.  Deadlines for completion would be established per learner but must be finished with each course within an 8-week timeframe or pay a continuation fee. Within this program will be a single, dual, and full scope of practice.  Clinical practicum will be completed by the traditional clinical practicum or the experiential pathway.
