Celebrating Deb Netsch: A Legacy of Leadership, Heart, and Excellence
What a remarkable year this is for Debra “Deb” Netsch, DNP, APRN, CNP, FNP-BC, CWOCN-AP, CFCN. After 25 years of pouring her heart into WEB WOC® Programs—including extraordinary leadership as Co-Director and ANCC Accredited Provider Program Director—Deb is preparing to step into a well-earned new chapter of retirement from these leadership roles.
And what a fitting moment to celebrate her. This year, Deb was honored with the WOCN Fellows Award, one of the highest recognitions in the WOC specialty. For those who know Deb, this honor feels especially meaningful—and deeply deserved.
Deb’s accomplishments are far too numerous to capture fully. She has served as an outstanding family nurse practitioner, advanced practice WOC nurse specialist, clinician, educator, author, presenter, mentor, and national leader. She has contributed to textbook chapters, peer-reviewed publications, national presentations, podcasts, posters, consensus work, evidence-based resources, and countless educational initiatives that have strengthened WOC nursing practice and advanced patient care.
But beyond the impressive list of accomplishments is the Deb we know and love: a person with a big heart, a calm and steady presence, and an unwavering commitment to giving 100% to everything she does. She has mentored learners, guided colleagues, shaped curriculum, strengthened accreditation processes, and helped lead WEB WOC with insight, integrity, and grace. Her thoughtful ideas have moved programs forward; her mediation skills have brought clarity; and her encouragement has lifted those around her.
As WEB WOC celebrates 25 years of innovation in accredited online WOC education, Deb’s 25 years of service stands as a foundational part of that story. Her leadership has helped shape not only the program’s past and present, but also the future of WOC nursing education and care.
Thankfully, this is not goodbye. While Deb is retiring from her Co-Director and ANCC Program Director roles, she will continue with WEB WOC as faculty and through special projects—because Deb does not simply step away from work she loves. She finds meaningful new ways to keep giving.
On a personal note, I will deeply miss Deb’s wisdom, insight, steady guidance, and day-to-day partnership. Working alongside her has been one of the most meaningful professional journeys of my life. More than a colleague, Deb is a treasured friend. For all the guidance, support, encouragement, and heart she has given to WEB WOC, to our learners, to our profession, and to me—thank you, Deb, from the bottom of my heart.
WEB WOC is better because of you.
